Sustainability Evaluation / Measurement Strategy

~ Objectives ~

To eliminate the amount of waste produced in the supply-chain so that the production follows a circular, zero-waste structure.

~ Activities ~

Using leftover waste such as yarn loose ends and yarn leftovers from the production stage to create zero-waste accessories. One example of this is the making of Zero-Waste Keychain Accessories.

~ Outcomes ~

The result of this strategy is to produce garments and zero-waste accessories, reporting on the numbers as well as any leftover waste that still needs to be used up.

In the current collection, there has been a total of 18 zero-waste keychain accessories made from production waste.

~ Evidence ~

There will be evidence in the form of video content and reporting on the numbers of zero-waste products produced as well as measuring the weight of the leftover yarn waiting to be used.

~ Lessons Learned ~

The zero-ware accessories have been a successful strategy in preventing waste from going to landfills. Perhaps in the future, there could be more designs of other zero-waste products to further eliminate waste as well as returned post-consumer products.
